Here’s a birthday idea for anyone who loves the game of chess or who loves to play games in general!
I used the smallest square from the Stitched Shapes Dies to cut out 10 squares. (I cut two pieces of c/s at a time, so it was only five cuts). I started by adhering the square in the upper left corner. The second square that I attached was in the second row and touched the lower right corner of the first square. The third square, the top right square, could then easily be placed to finish it off the top row. Just keep moving down the card in this fashion until the card is filled up. The squares along the right side and the bottom of the card will stick over the sides. When you have placed all of the squares, turn the card over and use your cutter to cut off the parts of the squares that are sticking over the sides of the card.
The base card is Crumb Cake and the 10 squares are Early Espresso. I stamped the images in Early Espresso ink. I colored three of the yellow Playing with Patterns Resin Dots with my Basic Black Stampin’ Blend before I added them to the card. I mounted the center piece with dimensionals. You may prefer the center piece to be straight or you may like it tilted like the picture below. You get to decide!!
This is a straight forward card without a lot of glitz and “foo-foo” which some of your friends and family will totally appreciate!
I have listed all of the products that you will need to create these cards. Please include the October Host Code which is EUNQYQPR, in your online order unless your order is $150 or more. When your order reaches $150, you begin earning FREE PRODUCTS yourself, so you will not use the hostess code in that case. Click on any picture below to go straight to my online store!
