I saw this idea on Rachael Tessman's blog and changed it up just a little bit.

Here is my version of the envelope card.

This tutorial is using different DSP, but the idea is exactly the same.

First, cut the DSP of your choice to 4"x 5".  Mark the bottom center of the DSP at 2 1/2", which is half way across.  Cut from the 2 1/2" point up to each of the upper corners.

If you have  DSP with a darker background like the first card I posted above, mount these pieces straight onto the white c/s.

If you have DSP with a white background, then choose a darker piece of c/s to mount the DSP on.

I'm using Mossy Meadow below.

Mark the center point of the 5 1/2" width at the halfway point, which is 2 3/4".  Cut from the 2 3/4" point up to the fold on each side.

You will not use the two green corner pieces that you cut off.

Because you can't write very well on the Mossy Meadow c/s, cut a white piece to go on the inside.

Mark the center point of the 4"x 5" white piece at the bottom at the halfway point (2 1/2") and cut like you see below.

Mount the DSP onto the Mossy Meadow c/s and insert the extra white piece of c/s to write on.

Rachael's version has two folded wings like you see below.  I like the wings on colored c/s. See below.

I don't like the look of the wings when I'm working with a white card base.

I like them with the Mossy Meadow below. They create a nice "pop".

If you want to create the "wings", here is how you do it.

Using  the top half of an 8 1/2"x 5 1/2" piece of c/s which has been folded in half, mark the halfway point on the 5 1/2" direction (2 3/4").

From each of the bottom corners, measure up 2 1/4" and make a mark.  Score on all four of these score lines and then fold.

After the first fold, your card will look like this.

After you have folded both of the sides, your card will look like this.

I added some Tear & Tape to hold the "wings" in place.

When you close the card, it looks like this.

I have listed what you will want to have on hand in order to make this card.

Please add the June Host Code  to your order which is P42BMTYG.

If you order is $150 or more, then you do not use the host code and you get the benefit of the hostess credit!  That's fun!!!
