This week I saw an idea by Mary Fish that I just had to CASE (copy)!

This card is simple but elegant because of the layers.

Because the designer paper is cut to 3" square, you can get 16 cards out of one piece of 12 x 12 paper.

  • Here are the layers:
  • Main White Card:  8 1/2"x 5 1/2" folded in half.
  • Second white layer is 5 1/8"x 3 7/8".  So just 1/8" less that the traditional 1/4" layer.
  • The Call Me Clover c/s is 3 1/4 square.
  • The Painted Seasons is 3" square.
  • I pulled the Call Me Clover ribbon across the front and around to the back, made a bow on the Ribbon Maker and added it to the card with Glue Dots.
  • The TY is from Humming Along.
  • Simple but elegant!

Here is the same card with Pool Party and Lemon Lime Twist layers and the ribbon is the Ombre Lemon Lime Twist Ombre Ribbon.  This ribbon is easier to tie, so I simply pulled the ribbon around and tied a traditional bow.

I stamped the greeting on this one with Coastal Cabana ink, which doesn't match exactly, but it blends in just fine..  Pool Party is too light.

The third card uses the Poppy Parade and Mango Melody c/s's.

Since there is no Poppy Parade ribbon, I brayered Poppy Parade ink onto the white 5/8" Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon.  I layed the ribbon on wax paper and brayered Poppy Parade ink onto both sides.  Then I blotted the ribbon with a paper towel and let it sit for about 30 minutes to dry before I tied the bow.

I have listed below the products that you will need to complete this project.
